GACC stands for the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China. It’s the main Chinese government authority responsible for regulating import and export goods, including food and agricultural products.GACC certification is an official approval given by Chinese Customs to foreign food producers, exporters, and their products, confirming they meet China’s food safety, sanitary, and quarantine standards for import into China.
For certain food products—especially animal-origin foods like poultry, meat, seafood, dairy, and processed foods—Chinese customs requires that the exporting companies and their processing plants are registered and approved by GACC before their products can enter China.
Brazil’s poultry exporters must have their processing plants certified and registered with GACC to export chicken products to China.
This certification ensures the plants comply with China’s animal health, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Without this certification, Brazilian chicken shipments will be rejected or banned at Chinese ports.
